Malappuram: Police investigation into Jesna case is now being focussed in Malappuram. The investigation is based on the witness statement that Jesna was seen in Koottakkunnu Tourism Park with a friend.

The police got information that a look-alike of Jesna and her friend were spotted in Kottakkunnu on May 3. They are thought to have spent time between 11 am and 8 pm on that day. The girls seemed to have reached there after a long distance journey.  It was also reported that the girls had talked with some people there.

The employees in the park doubted if it was Jesna when they saw the news and pictures in the next day’s newspaper. A social worker who had reached there for a programme also expressed the same doubt. The girls were wearing kurtha, jeans and shawl. They were carrying heavy bags.

The police have reached Kottakkunnu to investigate the matter in the backdrop of the information. First, they will try to retrieve the CCTV visuals. Police might collect the visuals in the city on that day. They assume that the girls would have reached Kottakunnu in an auto hired from KSRTC bus stand. The investigation will cover these assumptions.

Jesna Mariya James from Pathanamthitta was found missing on March 22.
